Positioning Statement
An Inquisitive Princess
My name is TeeMara Mollett, I am well known as Tee. I major in both Public Relations and Advertising Communications while minoring in both Marketing and Journalism. I study these subjects to have a wide range of knowledge on the world of publicity. My career goal is to become a publicist for an NFL athlete.
This field of work is not easy, as it takes a lot of adapting, time managing, and focus. Throughout my life, I have experienced many things to help become someone who carries those characteristics. Although I am not perfect, I take pride in the professionalism I acquired for the qualifications of a publicist. I have become very detail-oriented and inquisitive because I believe those are ways to show curiosity with a true passion to produce high quality. Every detail counts and I work hard to make it as though these details get the appropriate attention necessary. Branding my self to prospective companies using this website will be effective in the goal of getting a more personal understanding of who I am. I take pride in my exterior, mannerisms, authenticity, approachability, proficiency, balance, and values.
I have been an athlete my entire life. I ran track and was a competitive cheerleader. I was apart of Fire and Ice Allstars from age eight to 18. I then was apart of Gannon University’s competitive cheerleading team from age 18 through to 20. I ran track from age six to 18 for spring league on to and through high school. I maintained a hard position on both teams and truly learned a lot about myself alongside how to be an effective team member. Sports taught me how to properly adapt to a lot of different people and a continuously changing environment that requires fast results. They have also taught me how to time manage to be as though I maintained being a student and an athlete to two-sport moving into just one sport with much more intense responsibilities. Being involved in those two sports really pushed me to be the most focused individual. I was forced to a structure that ultimately taught me how to be a multitasker in the most effective way, turned lifestyle. Athletes have to schedule a time to do everything down to focusing on studies, eating right, staying in shape, and keeping positive energy for teammates to feed off of.
Although I am not apart of sports anymore, I am still involved with the marketing department at Gannon which is something I am very proud of. I work for the Gannon Edge which is a subset of the marketing department for students through the eyes of students. My position at the Edge is branding for the organization, student photography of events, and podcast production. Each part of my involvement carries a separate weight that helps prepare me for the world of Public Relations.
I am apart of Black Student Union. I am apart od the organization to be a voice on the Gannon campus for minorities to be apart of something much bigger than our individual selves. For BSU I am Head of Social Media. With that job, I handle the graphics and posts made to all social media platforms. These posts reflect and follow the philosophy of Gannon University alongside the set values of the group. This type of commitment is a form of experience needed for my career goal, therefore it is beneficial to be apart of. Handling the posting schedule and branding the organization to bring events correlated to what the vision of BSU is required major time management skills.
I am pretty involved with Gannon Athletics to become of publicity for a couple of student-athletes at Gannon. Our student-athletes want to go to national leagues after college, and being as though in the future I want to manage the image of athletes I am planning to be a free publicist for our athletes. I plan to gain the connections needed alongside building an image for the athletes to get where they want to go in the future. This is still in the works but, if all goes well the experience I would retain from it could great to bring to a potential employer.
